Despite Frustration In '07, More Travel Expected In '08
Despite high fuel costs, security hassles, crowded airports and flight delays, U.S. travelers were less frustrated during their holiday travels than earlier in the year.
The Traveler Frustration Index measured the hassle factor for U.S. travelers in the fourth quarter of 2007 at 3.9 out of a possible 10 -- down slightly from 4.1 in Q3, according to travel insurance provider Access America.
Don't expect travel frustrations to crimp travel in 2008: More than 26 percent of business travelers surveyed plan to travel more in 2008 than they did in 2007, and 62 percent of leisure travelers are planning to travel the same amount as in 2007.
Good news: Less than 16 percent of those surveyed reported irritation with booking their trips -- a 4 percent drop from earlier in the year.
