Amadeus Woos Mexicana For The Long-Term

Amadeus may soon have a new customer for its full Altéa Customer Management Solution -- a tool that manages e-commerce technology, reservations, inventory and departure control.

The GDS announced Nov. 12 that Mexican airline Mexicana de Aviación has made a preliminary commitment toward a long-term technology partnership between the two companies. The airline will use Amadeus' technology to drive sales through its commercial website at www.mexicana.com and improve its customer service, according to the release.

"Furthermore, this initiative will provide us with a clear competitive advantage over other airlines in our market, most of whom use passenger systems with more limited and less customer-centric functionality," noted Santiago Ontañón, Mexicana's IT director.
