Amadeus Snags Sabre Client
One large North American travel-agency network is close to completing a big GDS switch.
Amadeus announced Nov. 29 that it has signed a partnership with the Quebec-based Club Voyages network to equip the network's nearly 70 agencies with GDS capabilities through 2012. Club Voyages, which belongs to the Transat business and leisure group, will finalize its migration from the Sabre Travel Network system this month, according to an Amadeus release.
Club Voyages will rely on Amadeus' Selling Platform 3.1 sales and booking interface -- and operate its network with the Amadeus Leisure Platform, which is a combined search and comparison engine with a complete electronic catalog. The Leisure Platform will guide Club Voyages' booking policy, revealed Georges Rudas, sales director of Amadeus France.
